RAKU WARE IS CHARACTERIZED BY BEAUTIFULLY CRACKLED OR METALLIC GLAZED SURFACES AS WELL AS BLACKENED UNGLAZED SURFACES, BOTH OF WHICH ARE THE RESULT OF THE UNIQUE LOW-FIRING TECHNIQUE. THESE SPECIFIC PIECES ARE CREATED BY INTRICATELY PLACING HORSE HAIR ON THE PIECES WHILE THEY ARE STILL HOT RESULTING IN THE STUNNING CRACKLED FINISH.
